New Jersey Christian Leader Charged With Sexually Assaulting Children: Report
Harry L. Thomas, the co-founder of nation’s largest Christian rock festival, has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting minors, several news outlets reported Friday.
Thomas, 74, of Medford Township, abused minors for over 16 years, Medford police say. He now faces charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities said the assaults took place between 1999 and 2015 in Medford. Thomas is currently the pastor of Come Alive Church in Medford, according to local ABC affiliate 6 Action News.
Thomas was taken into custody Wednesday, and remains in a medical facility for treatment, where a county department of corrections officer is guarding him.
His first appearance in court will be scheduled in the near future, according to prosecutors.
