PICK YOUR POISON: Donald Trump Reboots Campaign By Hiring SUICIDE SQUAD
GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has hired Steve Bannon, executive chairman of the conservative website Breitbart News, to be his campaign CEO.
Breitbart News, a self-described “populist, nationalist” site, has been viewed as Trump’s biggest media megaphone throughout the 2016 election, promoting his positions and blasting Republican critics and other media outlets.
Bannon will oversee Trump campaign staff and day-to-day operations, while Kellyanne Conway, a Republican pollster, will be the new campaign manager. They will be joined by Former Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes in a desperate attempt to rescue Trump’s flagging presidential campaign.
“We’re adding some of the best talents in politics, with the experience and expertise needed to defeat Hillary Clinton in November,” Trump said in a statement.
The shakeup followed a disastrous month for the Trump campaign, in which the nominee made a series of gaffes and the high-profile defections of prominent Republicans both contributed to a steep slide in his poll numbers and approval ratings.
