Cards Against Humanity Buys Land Along U.S-Mexico Border To Block Trump’s Wall

Cards Against Humanity is known for unique stunts around this time of year. This year, they’re taking on President Donald Trump by joining Democrats, environmentalists and immigrant advocates in fighting Trump’s proposed border wall.

The company says they’ve bought a plot of vacant land on the border of the United States and Mexico in an effort to make it difficult for President Trump to build his border wall.

“We’ve purchased a plot of vacant land on the border and retained a law firm specializing in eminent domain to make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for the wall to get built,” the company said on their website.

They are also asking people to donate to their campaign.

“You give us $15, and we’ll send six America-saving surprises right to your doorstep,” the company said. “It will be fun, it will be weird, and if you voted for Trump, you might want to sit this one out.”

The company did not disclose where the piece of land is located, but said everyone who pitches in on day one will receive an illustrated map of the land.

The company’s full announcement can be read here:

“It’s 2017, and the government is being run by a toilet. We have no choice: Cards Against Humanity is going to save America.

“There’s no time for questions—now is the time to act. You give us $15, and we’ll send six America-saving surprises right to your doorstep. It will be fun, it will be weird, and if you voted for Trump, you might want to sit this one out…

“Donald Trump is a preposterous golem who is afraid of Mexicans. He is so afraid that he wants to build a twenty-billion dollar wall that everyone knows will accomplish nothing. So we’ve purchased a plot of vacant land on the border and retained a law firm specializing in eminent domain to make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for the wall to get built. On Day 1, all Cards Against Humanity Saves America recipients will get an illustrated map of the land, a certificate of our promise to fight the wall, some new cards, and a few other surprises.”

A Monmouth University poll found in September that only 35% of Americans support Trump’s plan to build a border wall. Most experts agree that the multi-billion dollar wall would be largely ineffective.

Cards Against Humanity CEO Max Temkin said the reaction among their customers has been mostly positive. “Playing our game requires literacy and a sense of humor so there’s not a lot of hardcore Trump fans in our fanbase.”

The company has been one of the most unlikely opponents of Trumpism since the president announced his candidacy in 2015. The company created an expansion back called “Trump Against Humanity” during the 2016 presidential primaries, and also sent a copy of their new game “Secret Hitler” to every sitting U.S. Senator as a warning against the Trump administration.

“To achieve his evil ends, Adolf Hitler required the cooperation of well-meaning men who hoped to appease and control the Nazis,” said a letter enclosed with the game. “Our game explores that relationship and highlights the difficulty of recognizing your own manipulation before it’s too late. Although our game takes place in 1933 Germany, we thought you and your staff might find our game relevant as you negotiate the balance of power with the Trump White House.”
