Let’s face it: Most Americans will never get used to ‘president Trump.’ Not because he lost the popular vote by almost 3 million ballots or the fact that he is an embarrassment to the human race. It’s his shameless mockery of the American people, the media, and even the U.S. Intelligence community. The latest insult came from Trump’s key adviser Kellyanne Conway.
Conway, who ran the president-elect’s 2016 campaign, told reporters that “Trump should not be held accountable for the things he says.”
It doesn’t take a person with a single digit IQ to see a disturbing pattern here. Trump wants to be free to say the most despicable things but he doesn’t want the American people to take him seriously. He thinks the American people are stupid!
Conway defended trump’s deplorable behavior by saying that journalists should “look at what’s in his heart.”
CNN “New Day” host Chris Cuomo called out Trump for mocking a disabled New York Times reporter during a 2015 rally. But Conway insisted that’s not what he was doing.
“That is not what he did and he has said that 1,000 times,” she said Monday morning. “Why can’t you give him the benefit of the doubt?”
Cuomo shot back, “He can say it a million times but look at the video… he’s making a disgusting gesture on video.”
“Why is everything taken at face value?” she asked. “You can’t give him the benefit of the doubt on this and he’s telling you what was in his heart, you always want to go with what’s come out of his mouth rather than look at what’s in his heart.”
The reference to the 2015 incident during a campaign rally came up again Sunday night after Meryl Streep lambasted him during her Golden Globes speech.
“The person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter, someone he outranked in privilege, power, and the capacity to fight back,” she said. “It kind of broke my heart.”
Trump responded to Streep on Twitter, saying, “I never ‘mocked’ a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him ‘groveling’ when he totally changed a 16 year old story that he had written in order to make me look bad.”
Just take a look at some of Trump’s offensive tweets– if we weren’t so terrified, we might even be amused:
One thing is clear: Trump has no problem using the most vulgar, offensive and deplorable language imaginable on Social Media. But he expects the American people to just “look what’s inside his heart.”
Well, I have news for Trump:
“The things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.” -Jesus – Matthew 15:18
So we are already looking into his heart.
