Here’s How Much YOU Spent On Mnuchin’s Military Flights
The Trump administration is wasting taxpayer money like it’s nobody’s business. Former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price cost taxpayers more than $1 million in private flights.
Now, according to the Treasury Department’s inspector general, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin is close to costing taxpayers about the same amount as he has already used more than $800,000 on seven military flights, according to the New York Times.
“Just because something’s legal doesn’t make it right,” Thorson’s counsel Rich Delmar said in the department’s 21-page report on Mnuchin’s travel, released Thursday.
“With few exceptions, the commercial air system used by millions of Americans every day is appropriate, even for very senior officials,” he continued.
The total that taxpayers have paid for Mnuchin’s private flights includes a $15,000 flight from D.C. to New York to meet Trump at his Manhattan Trump Tower. Another includes a nearly $315,000 trip to Italy with staffers for a financial conference.
Trump’s cabinet has very expensive taste and struggling Americans are paying for it out of their own pockets. What a shame.
