Mueller On The Hunt: His Next Target Is Pro-Trump Group With Ties To Pence’s Chief Of Staff
Special Counselor Robert Mueller took a huge step forward this week in his investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia. Now that he has arrested former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, Mueller is not after a pro-Trump non-profit with ties to the Mike Pence’s top staffer.
Mueller has contacted America First Policies, a group co-founded by Manafort deputy Rick Gates, according to Fox News.
The group not only has connections to Mueller’s latest targets, but it also has friends closer to the White House. America First Policies has connections to Pence’s Chief of Staff Nick Ayers.
Shortly after Ayers was confirmed as Pence’s second chief of staff, he announced that he was a leader of AFP.
Ayers has already been part of another controversy when he suggested last month that any Republican against Trump should be “purged.”
