Trump Threatened Lawsuit, NY Times Lawyers Hit Back In The Most Amazing Way
On Wednesday night, The New York Times published a bombshell report featuring two different women claiming the Republican nominee Donald Trump’s sexual assaulted them, Trump responded the way he does to anyone who dares to cross him – with lawsuits. But The New York Times isn’t backing away from its reporting on Donald Trump’s history of sexual assault, despite a legal threat from the GOP nominee.
The Times was not moved by that threat. After Trump’s lawyers demanded a retraction of the story and threatened a libel lawsuit, the paper issued a response, and it can be summed up in two simple words: bring it.
“It would be a disservice not just to our readers but to democracy itself to silence their voices,” the Times replied. And in a mic-drop closer, it challenged him to take the lawsuit forward: “We welcome the opportunity to have a court set him straight.”
As the Times points out, Trump has no legs to stand on as the behavior that he is being accused of has been confirmed by his very own words. There is nothing the Times has published that he has not boasted of doing himself; indeed, his own words confirm the legitimacy of the accusations put forward by multiple women over the years.
