Pope Francis Warns ‘History Will Judge’ The Lack Of Action Against Climate Change
Pope Francis gave a dire warning that “history will judge” those who do not take action on climate change.
Francis spoke with reporters about climate change and urged doubters to talk to scientists about the issue, saying that “those who deny this must go to the scientists and ask them. They speak very clearly.”
“These aren’t opinions pulled out of thin air. They are very clear,” Francis told reporters after a trip to Colombia, The Associated Press reports. “Then [leaders] decide and history will judge those decisions.”
Donald Trump was urged by Francis to take action against climate change, but Trump and his administration refuse to address the problem.
Trump has constantly called climate change a “hoax.”
Asked about people who deny the science behind climate change, Francis said Sunday that “man is stupid.”
He added, “When you don’t want to see, you don’t see.”
