Red States Are Starting To Turn Blue: Democrats Rise On Top In Texas
Polls released Wednesday by Texas Lyceum revealed that Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) is edging out Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in what could be a potential 2018 Senate matchup.
According to the poll Castro is leading Cruz on 35 to 31 percentage points, while the matchup between Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) and Cruz is evenly tied up at 30 percent for each one.
The last time a Senate race was won by a Democrat in Texas was 29 years ago.
According to the same poll Donald Trump is also falling underwater. His numbers show 54 percent disapproving to 42 percent who approve.
The poll was conducted from April 3 to 9 and includes 1,000 interviews. The margin of error is 3.1 percentage points.
