Report Reveals Trump May Be Double Thinking His Presidency Amid DACA Decision
According to a report by The New York Times, Donald Trump went up to his aides asking for “a way out” before having to come up with a decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
According to the report, Chief of staff John Kelly gathered a group of Trump aides to help him come up with a decision on whether to end DACA or not.
The program protects 800,000 immigrants who were brought to the country illegally as children from being deported.
After several Attorneys General threatened to sue if Trump didn’t end DACA the president had to come up with a decision on whether to end it or not.
Trump has reportedly struggled with the decision on the future of the program, after promising on the campaign trail to end the protections but facing strong opposition on doing so from members of his own party.
The announcement will be made by 11 a.m Eastern time.
