REPORT: US Intel ‘Overheard’ Russian Officials Discuss Trump Associate Back In Spring 2015
According to a recent report by the Wall Street Journal, U.S. intelligence agencies “overheard” conversations among Russian government officials who were discussing Donald Trump associates back in spring of 2015.
The odd thing about this is that the discussions took place months before Trump had announced his candidacy for president.
One of the officials who spoke with the Journal said that the Russian government officials were discussing Trump’s business dealings in Russia and his celebrity status. He called the conversations “vague and inconclusive.”
Intelligence officials are reviewing those intercepts, which at times discussed meetings outside of the United States between Trump associates and Russian operatives.
And in light of the release of emails Tuesday by Donald Trump Jr., investigators are going back to those early reports to see if they can understand them better.
