BREAKING: Six Shot At Washington High School, One Student Dead, Shooter In Custody
A shooting at a high school near Spokane Wednesday morning has left one student dead and at least three others wounded, several news outlets reported Wednesday.
The shooting happened at Freeman High School in the town of Rockford around 10 a.m. an official with the Spokane Fire Department said. Multiple ambulances and a Lifeflight helicopter were dispatched to the high school.
City of Spokane Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer said the fatality was a male student and three others who were wounded were taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane where they were listed in serious condition.
Meanwhile, police have arrested the suspected shooter. “The shooter is in the backseat of a patrol car right now,” Spokane Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich told reporters.
All schools in the Spokane district were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure but the lockdown has since been lifted.
