‘BOOM!’: Stephen Colbert’s EPIC Welcome Home Message To Donald Trump Sets Twitter On Fire

President Donald Trump just returned from his trip to Asia as the country struggles with an avalanche of sexual harassment scandals involving entertainment and political personalities. Most notably, Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, who is accused of sexually assaulting teenage girls while he was in his 30s.

Facing a “bad-to-worse” situation, Republican leadership in the Senate, the Senate GOP’s official fundraising arm and the Republican National Committee have all cut ties with Moore after a Washington Post story detailed how Moore, now 70, initiated sexual contact with teenage girls while he was an assistant district attorney in his 30’s.

The claims were substantiated when another past victim came forward during a press conference with her attorney Gloria Allred to say that Moore had viciously assaulted her when she was 16 years old, after regularly trying to flirt with and touch her at the restaurant where she worked.

The claims and the major uproar should be concerning for Trump, who has been accused of sexual harassment by several women. There was also the matter of the 2005 Access Hollywood tapes, in which Trump bragged about sexually assaulting women and getting away with it because he is famous. Trump was able to convince his followers that he did nothing wrong and ended up winning the 2016 election.

But with Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell and a number of Republicans saying they believe Moore’s victims joining the chorus of voices demanding Moore withdraw from the campaign — and his polls numbers taking a huge hit as a result of the news, it appears things might be changing.

With these facts in mind, The Late Show host Stephen Colbert got in on the action last night with a joke on twitter that was also a serious warning to president Trump:

“Welcome home, @RealDonaldTrump! While you were gone we started actually punishing people for sexual harassment so, you know, heads up,” Colbert tweeted.

Some Twitter users couldn’t help but pile on:
