Things Go From Bad To Worse For Trump, Top Dem Just Called For Obstruction of Justice Investigation

Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein, the Ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, sent out a letter to Republican Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley on Friday, calling for an investigation to see if Donald Trump did in fact obstructed justice in his meetings with former FBI Director James Comey.

“As a member of both the Judiciary and Intelligence Committees, I see firsthand the distinction between the legal and counterintelligence aspects presented by Director Comey’s testimony this week,” her letter reads. “It is my strong recommendation that the Judiciary Committee investigate all issues that raise a question of obstruction of justice. These issues should be developed by our legal staff, presented to us, and be subject to full Committee hearings.”

In the letter, Feinstein pointed out multiple troubling revelations that came to light during Comey’s testimony last week, specifically detailing the private meetings he had with the President in which Trump urged him to drop the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

“You and I agree on these matters,” Feinstein’s letter to Chairman Grassley concludes. “Termination of the FBI Director and any efforts to interfere with the independence of ongoing investigations fall squarely in the jurisdiction of the Judiciary Committee. I strongly believe there is more that needs to be done…”

If the House Judiciary Committee does start to investigate Trump for obstruction of justice he could be looking at impeachment, as did Nixon and Clinton before him.
