‘Trump Did Have His ‘Wires Tapped’, Preet Bharara Tweets
Former U.S. attorney Preet Bharara, who was fired by president Donald Trump as he was ready to preside over a corruption case involving the now defunct Trump University, took a shot at the president on Saturday night about his claims of being “wiretapped” in Trump Tower.
Earlier this year, Trump claimed in a series of unsubstantiated tweets that the Obama administration wire-tapped Trump Tower while he was running for office.
Bharara tweeted that Trump apparently “DID have his “wires tapped” in Trump Tower. Case closed” along with a link to a Wall Street Journal article headlined, “Former employees of Donald Trump say he sometimes taped phone conversations in Trump Tower.”

In a Friday tweet that set off questions, Trump said fired FBI Director James Comey “better hope that there are no “tapes” of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!”

Bharara and 45 other attorneys were fired after Trump took office. He said the president had asked him to remain in his role shortly following the election, so his dismissal came as a surprise.
Bharara tweeted last week “everyone” should be troubled by the president’s decision to fire Comey.
