Trump Official Physically Escorted From HHS Building After ‘Abrupt Resignation’: Report
Controversial anti-choice activist Teresa Manning, who President Donald Trump appointed to the Department of Health and Human Services to manage Title X federal family planning program, was reportedly escorted from the building Friday afternoon.
Manning served for a mere nine months, according to Politico reporter Dan Dimond, who broke the news on Twitter.
A report in The Washington Post Friday verified that she “abruptly resigned” from her post.
Manning was criticized by women’s groups for once saying that “contraception doesn’t work.” They warned that her anti-science pro-religion agenda would significantly impact national policy.
Manning previously worked for the far-right groups Family Research Council and National Right to Life.
