Watch GOP Lawmaker Run Down The Stairs As Reporter Chases Him With Roy Moore Question
A video posted on Twitter by ABC News shows the moment a GOP lawmaker rushes down a staircase Tuesday as a reporter chases him attempting to ask him about sexual misconduct allegations against Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore.
In the short clip, ABC’s Tom Llamas’ questions Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks (R) about whether the congressman believes the five women who have accused Moore of sexual misconduct.
“Do you believe Roy Moore over the women?” Llamas asked in the video, to which Brooks responded, “I believe that the Democrats will do great damage to our country.”
“I believe that the Democrats will do great damage to our country on a myriad of issues,” Brooks reiterated after Llamas pressed him while running down a set of stairs.
Brooks has stood by Moore despite mounting sexual misconduct allegations against the Alabama Senate candidate since last week, which have prompted numerous senior Republicans to call for Moore to step aside.
Brooks argued earlier this week that Moore’s history of sexual assault isn’t important because he’ll vote with Republicans on key issues, from the national debt to rolling back abortion rights.
“There are major issues facing the United States of America, deficit and debt that can lead to insolvency and bankruptcy, funding for national security, border security, abortion, an appointment of supreme court justices – Doug Jones will vote wrong on each of those issues, Roy Moore will vote right on each of those issues. That’s why I’m voting for Roy Moore,” Brooks said in a statement.
