A second person in Washington has died from coronavirus, officials announced Sunday night, CNN reports. The latest death was one of four new cases King County reported Sunday night.
According to the report, a man in his 70s died Saturday at EvergreenHealth, a hospital in Washington, according to local health officials.
The latest death, the nation’s second, was one of four new cases the county reported Sunday night. Three other patients are all listed in critical condition.
Officials Saturday morning announced that a man in his 50s also died at that same facility.
All of the newly confirmed cases were found in residents of LifeCare, the skilled nursing facility where a resident and an employee have already tested positive.
The four latest cases bring the total to 10 in King County, which includes Seattle. Washington Gov. Jay Inslee declared a state of emergency after the first death was announced.
The novel coronavirus has killed over 3,000 people worldwide, the vast majority in mainland China.
According to several reports, there have been more than 88,000 global cases, with infections on every continent except Antarctica.
