Confused Trump Supporters Are Attacking Actor LeVar Burton Because They Think He’s LaVar Ball
Let’s face it, Donald Trump always enjoyed massive support from uneducated, low-information white people. Despite being the most unpopular new president in the history of modern polling, 86% of Trump voters say they have no regrets about their choice. Yes, Trump owes his presidency to the uninformed.
The mind-boggling ignorance of came on full display again after they decided to attack actor Lavar Burton on social media because they think he’s Lavar Ball.
Levardis “LeVar” Burton Jr. is an award-winning American actor, director, and author.
Lavar Ball, of course, has been feuding with Trump after his son, LiAngelo Ball, was released back into the United States after being caught shoplifting in China. Trump, of course, doesn’t think LaVar Ball has shown enough appreciation for his son’s release, though it’s unclear what the president did to facilitate it.
Now, Trump supporters are defending their president by hurling insults at the wrong guy.
As reported by the Associated Press,
“President Donald Trump is feuding with LaVar Ball and LeVar Burton is taking the hit on Twitter. Burton is an actor best known for playing Lt. La Forge in “Star Trek” on TV and film and for championing kids’ education through the “Reading Rainbow” series. Ball is the father of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball and UCLA basketball player LiAngelo Ball, one of three student players recently arrested in China for shoplifting.”
This feud is typical of Trump, but when another self-obsessed individual, LaVar Ball, is added to the equation, it takes the fight to a whole new level.
But all of this is par for the course when it comes to Trump. This is what we’ve come to expect from the cartoon character in White House. So, too, is the fact that his supporters cannot even target their rage at the correct individual when trying to defend their president.
Trump supporters should try turning off Fox News and allow reality to permeate the shell they’ve constructed to keep out ideas that interfere with their prejudices and abject ignorance.
