‘You’re Useless’: The Internet Responds To Trump’s Condolences After White Man Shoots Five Deputies And Two Civilians

President Trump on Sunday tweeted his condolences to the victims of a shooting in Colorado that left one sheriff’s deputy dead.

One police officer was killed and four others were injured when a suspect opened fire on deputies responding to a domestic disturbance call, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said. Two civilians were also shot, according to authorities.

The suspect, identified only as a “white male”, is believed to be dead and “no longer a threat.”

The Sheriff’s Office had initially said that there were “multiple deputies down.”

Douglas County Sheriff Joe Pelle’s son, Jeff, was among those injured in the incident. The sheriff said his son, who is a deputy, is “in good spirits considering the gravity and severity of what occurred earlier this morning.”

The slain deputy has not been identified.

Trump’s tweet was met with negative responses for not acknowledging the need for stricter gun control in the wake of yet another senseless act of gun violence.
