George Nader, adviser to the United Arab Emirates, who met with White House adviser Jared Kushner during the presidential transition is now cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller, according to The New York Times.
According to the Times, Nader met with Kushner and Blackwater founder Erik Prince (the brother of Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos) in January of last year. The report states that Nader testified to the grand jury last week.
Mueller is now looking into whether Nader “funneled” money from the UAE to Trump’s political campaign.
The Times reported:
“At the meeting, Emirati officials believed Mr. Prince was speaking for the Trump transition team, and a Russian fund manager, Kirill Dmitriev, represented Mr. Putin, according to several people familiar with the meeting.”
Nadar also attended multiple meetings in the White House with both Kushner and Stephen Bannon.
According to the Times, Nader has been questioned by Mueller “numerous times.”
