Another Person Has Just Been Identified That Attended Trump Jr’s Meeting With Russian Lawyer
A recent report by the New York Times revealed the identity of another person who was present during the June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and Russian government lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.
The people who had been identified before the Times report were, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner, former campaign manager Paul Manafort, former Soviet military intelligence officer and lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin, and British music publicist Rob Goldstone.
The Times revealed that the latest person to be identified was Anatoli Samachornov, a Russian translator.
According to a CNN report, a representative of Emin and Aras Agalarov, the Russian family who asked Goldstone to arrange the meeting, may also have been there.
The news of the meeting first broke out last Saturday, when it was reported that Don Jr., alongside Kushner and Manafort, met up with Veselnitskaya.
Don Jr. lied about the purpose of the meeting at firs, saying that it was just to discuss the adoption program, but he later revealed that he had accepted the meeting because Veselnitskaya had damaging information on then-candidate Hillary Clinton.
Don Jr.’s emails then revealed that the meeting was part of “Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”
