A new report revealed on Wednesday that Donald Trump’s longtime aide Keith Schiller left his post at the White House.
According to CNN, Schiller had been talking to confidantes for weeks about wanting to leave the White House.
Schiller, which was a former security chief to Trump who is close to the president, said he wasn’t happy at the White House, adding that his access to the president was reduced by new White House chief of staff John Kelly.
But that wasn’t the only reason Schiller was unhappy. According to CNN, Schiller was unhappy with the pay cut he was forced to take upon joining the White House.
Schiller was reportedly earning $294,000 a year while in the Trump Organization, that number dropped drastically to $165,000 after joining the White House.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters earlier this month that rumors of Schiller’s departure were “not true,” and that Schiller planned to stay in the administration.
