Another White House employee lost their job this week. This time it was Donald Trump’s personal assistant who reportedly lost his position at the White House because of a gambling problem.
According to the Washington Post, John McEntee had to be escorted out of the White House earlier this week after a background investigation found that he had a gambling problem.
The investigation found that McEntee would bet tens of thousands of dollars at a time and did so often. According to two people familiar with his departure who spoke with the Post, McEntee’s problem created potential security risks.
McEntee worked with Trump since the beginning of his presidential campaign. Despite losing his job at the White House, McEntee will join the Trump campaign as a senior adviser.
McEntee’s departure is part of a large number of White House staffers that have lost their jobs in the administration.
