As Trump Defends Muslim Ban, Millions Gather Across The Nation In Protest

While Donald Trump may be gloating about his recent executive order to ban seven Muslim-makority nations from entering the United States millions of people across the nation are standing up against it. Protests are happening in all corners.

The first protest took place at the JFK airport in New York, where thousands of people were gathered in protest. That ignited people to speak up.

Two GOP lawmakers, John McCain and Lindsey Graham, spoke out against the ban in a statement where they said the ban would “do more to help terrorist recruitment than improving our security.”

Donald Trump responded to that in the only way he knows how, by tweeting about it:

Trump also tried defending his decision saying in a statement, “America has always been the land of the free and home of the brave. We will keep it free and keep it safe, as the media knows, but refuses to say.”

He continued: “To be clear, this is not a Muslim ban, as the media is falsely reporting. This is not about religion — this is about terror and keeping our country safe.”

But that’s not how people feel about it, and that’s not how Democrats feel about it. House Minority leader, Chuck Schumer, made a statement Monday saying that he will ask for a delay in the cabinet voting.

“I’m going to ask for a delay, whether McConnell grants it, you know, they run the Senate,” Schumer said, adding, “I think we’re going to ask about it for just about every one.”

People from all over started to make their voices heard as well.

Millions of people gathered at airports across the nation, welcoming international arrivals.

This seems to have become a pattern for justice. Anything Trump does that is unconstitutionally wrong, or just flat out inhumane, people are going to make sure he hears about it. People are not going to just lay around and let an injustice happen. This is what a democracy is, not a man trying to rule a free world, but a free world speaking out for their rights.
