Bill Nye Just Put A Giant Red Stamp Of Disapproval On DeVos And Pruitt
Bill Nye the “Science Guy” in an interview with the Guardian had a few words to say about Donald Trump’s cabinet picks, specifically Environmental Protection Agency Administrator (EPA) Scott Pruitt and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos. He called them “the least qualified people on the planet” to run their agencies.
Nye went on to say that the Trump administration is “dismantling” the government from within, singling out White House chief strategist Steve Bannon as the main culprit.
“There is a technique of dismantling government from within, which is the thinking of Bannon,” Nye said. “They are hiring the least qualified people on the planet to run the agencies, such as Mr. Pruitt at the EPA and Ms. DeVos at the department of education.”
Nye’s comments on both Pruitt and DeVos are backed up by evidence.
Pruitt, before becoming EPA administrator, served as Oklahoma’s attorney general. During his time in Oklahoma he sued the EPA more than a dozen times.
Pruitt also denied last month that carbon emissions caused by human activity are a primary contributor to climate change, despite the fact that climate scientists concluded that CO2 emissions are a key contributor to climate change.
On the other side, DeVos was a major contributor to the Republican party and advocate for charter schools. Her lack of experience in public education brought critics to believe she is unqualified for the job.
