The White House has been in scramble mode since a series of scandals surrounding top administration officials dominated the news cycle last week. Chief of staff John Kelly, has been under fire for his handling of the scandals.
Surrogates insist that the president still has confidence in Kelly. But MSNBC host Joe Scarborough revealed on Sunday that the reality behind the scenes is quite different and Kelly’s days working for President Donald Trump are numbered.
“WH insiders are saying it’s just a matter of time before Kelly is gone,” Scarborough tweeted Sunday. “One source tells me more unflattering stories are coming out against an isolated CoS who has lost the president’s confidence,” the “Morning Joe” co-host added.
Although Kelly has been credited with instilling more discipline in what had been a completely chaotic White House, his handling of the Rob Porter scandal has led to a cascade of negative leaks questioning his fitness for the job.
First Daughter Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner have reportedly been the most eager to see Kelly ousted, as reports suggest they feel that the chief of staff has limited their access to the president.
