BREAKING: Manafort Caught Lying To Prosecutors After Taking Plea Deal
Paul Manafort, Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, had taken a plea deal with special counsel Robert Mueller to shave off 10 years off his prison sentence. But it was announced on Monday that Manafort lied to federal prosecutors after taking the plea deal with Mueller.
In September, Manafort pleaded guilty to conspiracy against the United States and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
In the filing, the government alleged that Manafort breached his plea agreement with Mueller by lying to prosecutors after signing it.
“As the defendant has breached the plea agreement, there is no reason to delay his sentencing,” the filing read.
