British Prime Minister Theresa May reportedly called President Donald Trump to congratulate him about Republicans’ performance in the midterm elections, when the president completely lost it and ripped into her.
According to the Washington Post, Trump started berating May over the phone while flying to Paris last Friday, yelling at her for not doing enough to rein in Iran and complaining about European-American trade relationships.
Citing U.S. and European officials briefed on the conversation, The Post reported that May and her aides were particularly shaken by this call, despite having endured criticism from Trump before.
May has consistently argued that Iran is meeting its obligations under the nuclear deal, despite Trump exiting the agreement and reimposing sanctions.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on this report.
