BUSTED: Russian Ambassador Reveals Sessions Lied About Topics Spoken At Meetings He Concealed
According to The Washington Post, new intercepts prove that Attorney General Jeff Sessions lied about the topics discussed at his meeting with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
According to Kislyak, he and Sessions had two conversations. These conversations were not first disclosed when Sessions had his confirmation hearing. The Attorney General then admitted that the meetings did happen but claimed that they were not about the Trump campaign.
Now, it seems that that was actually a lie and it was about the Trump campaign.
According to a U.S. official, if this is true, Sessions has knowingly given “misleading” statements that have been “contradicted by other evidence.”
“Jeff Sessions is now not only in trouble with his job but with the law,” said CNN’s Dana Bash on Friday.
Sessions is not on Trump’s good side at the moment. Trump has expressed his frustration of Sessions recusing himself from any Russia related investigation.
According to Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Sessions “may be forced to resign because of these contacts and this lack of truthfulness before the Judiciary Committee and the Intelligence Committee.”
