California School Forced To Evacuate Football Game After Shooter Opened Fire: Report

Armijo High School in Fairfield, California was forced to evacuate after a deadly gun battle ensued nearby, according to KCRA News.

The shooting took place near the high school on Friday night after 5:00 p.m.

According to police reports, a 16-year-old boy was killed, and an 18-year-old man is in critical condition.

According to an officer at the scene, once law enforcement arrived at the shooting the two suspects fled in different directions, one of them headed towards the high school.

KCRA reported:

The two suspects were detained by 7 p.m. One suspect was found in a nearby residence.

The other suspect was found in the school’s gym and detained. Hurlbut said the suspect “mixed in among the students” who were locked down in the gym. Officers were able to find the suspect early on among the crowd of about 500 people and take the person into custody. No weapon was found.
