China Celebrates ‘Year Of The Rooster’ With a Huge Trump-Rooster Statue

A giant rooster figure, sporting a Donald Trump hairstyle, has popped up outside a shopping mall in downtown Taiyuan, north China’s Shanxi Province. 2017 is the year of the rooster in the Chinese zodiac, and to celebrate, the city commissioned a large statue of a rooster, bearing a striking resemblance to Donald Trump.

To be fair, Donald Trump is like a rooster in many ways. He has a tousle of red-orange hair at the top of his head, his orange coloring is attention grabbing and he wakes us all up at sunrise every morning with tweets about how Saturday Night Live sucks.

The designer of the sculpture, artist Casey Latiolais, told Mashable that he observed the connection between Trump and the bird and designed a Trump-rooster statue for the Chinese shopping mall.

Miniature versions of the statue are reportedly being sold in malls across the country and on the Chinese e-commerce site Taobao, according to Mashable.

Latiolais  said the sculpture – heralding the upcoming Chinese Year of the Rooster – was inspired by the American president-elect, by both his iconic hairstyle and gestures.

I can’t wait to read Trump’s tweet about this one.
