In an attempt to make Donald Trump not seem completely incapable to do his job as president, CIA Director Mike Pompeo did the exact opposite when he admitted that he has to be with Trump every single day.
Pompeo said, “I’m with the president nearly every day,” while also noting that President Obama rarely met up with his CIA Director.
Pompeo went on to say that the daily meetings are signs that Trump is “interested” in learning new things.
The CIA Director then attacked those who criticized Trump for not having interest in intel briefings. Pompeo said, “I cannot imagine a statement that is any more false than one that would attribute President Trump of not being interested in the intelligence community.”
“President Trump is incredibly demanding of the intelligence community, asks incredibly difficult questions,” he added.
But Trump’s actions seem to show otherwise. Either he is not grasping anything that they are teaching him or he’s not interested at all.
And what’s odd about Pompeo’s statement is that it completely contradicts a Washington Post report last month in which the CIA director reportedly said Trump demands “killer graphics” and other visual aides during his briefings so he can understand what’s going on.
“That’s our task, right? To deliver the material in a way that he can best understand the information we’re trying to communicate,” Pompeo said, according to the Post.
