Donald Trump had the opportunity to divest from his company once it was known that he would be the 45th president of the United States. Instead Trump decided to leave his business to his kids, no blind trust, no divestment.
Mark Cuban spoke with Business Insider and told them what he would do with his businesses if he ever decided to run for president.
“I have so many private business investments that it would be impossible to sell them,” Cuban told Business Insider in a recent email.
“I would put them in a blind trust but make it clear I would still be available on a limited basis for those companies. It wouldn’t be fair to those companies if I just bailed on them.
“I would also be very transparent — truly transparent about what I was doing,” he continued. “And yes, I would make my [tax] returns available.”
Cuban has been one of Trump’s biggest critics and even endorsed the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton.
Trump has yet to release his tax returns and it’s already been more than two months since he became president. Maybe he should take some notes from Cuban.
