In response to Donald Trump’s lies about the size of his inauguration, the Dallas Stars mocked the president by posting on their Jumbotron a similar lie about the attendance of their crowds on Saturday’s game.
The giant screen posted a graphic that said “Tonight’s Attendance: 1.5 million.” However, the American Airlines Center, where the game was being held, only holds 20,000 people.
President Trump and his press secretary Sean Spencer have attacked the media for showing side by side photos of Trump’s inauguration vs Obama’s, which clearly had a much higher gathering of people.
“It looked like a million, a million and a half people,” Trump said during a speech at the Central Intelligence Agency headquarters. “They showed a field where there were practically nobody standing there,” he added.
Experts disagree, saying it is unlikely that the numbers were that high. The anti-Trump Women’s March, by contrast, is estimated to have had approximately 4.3 million protesters demonstrating on behalf of women’s rights nationwide.
