Georgia Girl Demolishes Trump And NRA After Witnessing Her Teacher Shoot Up School

A girl who witnessed her teacher opened fire and barricaded himself inside a classroom at a Dalton, Georgia high school before being taken into custody by local police, blasted the National Rifle Association (NRA) and President Trump’s plan to arm teachers in order to stop school shootings.

The Georgia incident comes two weeks after a gunman opened fire at a high school in Parkland, Fla., killing 17 people and injuring several others. While the details of the incident are still sketchy, no students were hurt during the incident, police said.

As another day of learning was wasted with children needlessly forced to experience the terror that instinctively emerges at the prospect of an imminent and excruciating death, one brave student took to Twitter in order to call out the NRA and offer us a little glimpse into the horrifying chaos that our kids have to deal with every time there is a school evacuation.

“@nra my favorite teacher at Dalton high school just blockaded his door and proceeded to shoot. We had to run out the back of the school in the rain. Students were being trampled and screaming. I dare you to tell me arming teachers will make us safe,” the student wrote on Twitter.

Chondi’s tweet not only illustrates how arming our teachers solves nothing while creating a whole new set of problems that we have to deal with.

As noted by the Washington Press:

“Teaching is a stressful job, especially in the United States, where teachers are heavily overworked and disgracefully underpaid. Sometimes, tempers flare and emotions break down; in those moments, it’s best to not have a killing machine that could end a child’s life with one impulsive movement. The only thing that arming teachers will accomplish is to inflict more unnecessary terror, injury, and death upon our nation’s children.”
