David Letterman Drops Epic Barrage Of Truth Bombs On Donald Trump
Although David Letterman retired from the late night circuit, he didn’t retire his opinions, and just took a big swing at president Donald Trump.
The retired host unleashed his thoughts surrounding the president in a wide-ranging interview with New York Magazine’s Vulture, published on Sunday.
Letterman called Trump “crazy” and said the Russians “groomed” him to be an “authoritarian dictator”. He also predicted that Trump “will eventually take a fastball to the face and have to leave the game”
“I’m sure the Russians groomed Trump. They gave him tips: ‘You want to be an authoritarian dictator? Sure, that’s not a problem. We’ll tell you how to do it, for God’s sake’,” Letterman said.
Comparing Trump to the head of a family named “Larry,” Letterman said: “If Larry behaved the way Donald behaves, for even a six-week period, the family would get together and say, ‘Jesus, somebody better call the doctor.’ Then they’d ask him to step down. But Trump’s the president and he can lie about anything from the time he wakes up to what he has for lunch and he’s still the president. I don’t get that.”
The 69-year-old Letterman also called out Democrats. “We don’t need more confirmation that there’s something wrong with Donald Trump,” he said. “Let’s instead find ways to rebuild what is rational. And the Democrats, goddamn it, get a little backbone, get a little spine.”
