As the midterm elections get closer and closer another Senate race is going to the Democratic candidate. According to a new CNN poll, Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) has extended her lead over Republican Rep. Martha McSally (Ariz.) in the Arizona Senate race.
The poll shows Sinema with a 50 to 43 percent lead over her Republican opponent McSally.
The two candidates are running to fill the soon to be vacant seat left by retiring Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.).
The race is still very close but the Democrat has the slight edge. Both candidates are seen more positively than negatively, according to the CNN poll.
This is one of the deep red states Democrats are looking to flip. Another one would be Texas where the race between Ted Cruz (R) and Beto O’Rourke (D) is still neck and neck.
The CNN poll was conducted Sept. 11-15 and interviewed 1,001 likely voters in Arizona. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.
