Dem Lawmaker Delivers Massive Smackdown To Trump’s ‘Witch Hunt’ Claim, Sets Twitter On Fire

On Thursday, a Massachusetts congressman blasted President Trump’s claim that he is the victim of the “single greatest witch hunt” in U.S. History.
“This is the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!” Trump tweeted earlier Thursday, adding no special counsel was ever appointed for “all of the illegal acts that took place in the Clinton campaign & Obama Administration.”
Salem Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton, a Marine veteran and Harvard University graduate, tweeted that his hometown might beg to differ:
Twenty people were executed during the Salem witch trails in the 1690s, and another five died in prison.
Trump’s claim was in response to the naming of a special counsel to the investigation into his campaign’s alleged ties to Russia’s election interference.
The White House has previously insisted that there is no need for a special counsel regarding the 2016 election, and Trump has expressed a desire to see existing Russian probes over and done with.
Moulton’s response took Twitter by storm. Here are some of the highlights:
