Scott Pruitt, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, faced tough questions from lawmakers as he testified before two House committees on Thursday.
During the hearings, Pruitt faced a barrage of criticism for allegedly spending extravagantly on security costs, approving raises for staffers and renting a condo from a lobbyist who had business before his agency.
Pruitt spent the morning appearing before the House Energy and Commerce Committee where he was lambasted “unfit to hold public office and undeserving of the public trust.”

Later, during a second hearing before the House Appropriations committee, Pruitt faced the ire of Congresswoman Betty McCollum (D-MN), who didn’t hold back on her criticism of the embattled EPA administrator.
“The EPA budget is reckless, irresponsible and unrealistic,” McCollum told Pruitt. “You’re letting the American people down, and you’re letting your agency down,” she added.
