Dem Senate Candidate Was Shot At While Sitting In Her Car After Being Harassed Multiple Times
Democratic candidate for state senate in Colorado, Rebecca Cranston, was sitting in her truck while parked in her driveway when she was shot at last week.
According to reports, Cranston was on her phone when she heard a loud noise. “It didn’t occur to me that it would be a gunshot at first, until we saw the bullet hole,” she explained.
The Coloradoan reported:
“it’s not clear if Rebecca Cranston… was targeted or if the shooting was related to other reported shootings in northwest Fort Collins,” the area where Cranston resides.
According to the report, Cranston reported the shooting to the Larimer County Sheriff’s office last week.
The Sheriff’s office said it has already started an investigation which they believe it’s related to two other unsolved shootings that occurred in the area earlier this spring.
For Cranston, this wasn’t the first time she’s been a target of an attack. She told reporters that she has been harassed for months during the course of her campaign. She claimed that people have been staking out her house and stealing her mail.
“I don’t really feel safe here, frankly,” she said.
Cranston took to Facebook to inform about the harassment she has received.
Cranston said that “in the last 9 months, I have filed 3 police reports following disturbing incidences of harassment, including someone following and photographing me and my home.”
