Dem Lawmaker Just Stuck It To The Orange Man: ‘Our Country Needs A White House Shutdown’
As Donald Trump calls for a “good shutdown” of the government, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) responds by saying that “our country needs a White House shutdown”
Trump tweeted on Tuesday:
“The reason for the plan negotiated between the Republicans and Democrats is that we need 60 votes in the Senate which are not there!”
“We … either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%,” Trump added. “Our country needs a good ‘shutdown’ in September to fix mess!”
Swalwell also tweeted out a response to the president’s remarks.
Nope. Our country needs a White House shutdown. Working on it. https://t.co/sYowfniRyX

Trump’s budget chief Mick Mulvaney on Monday spoke in an off-camera briefing, warning Republicans skeptical of the funding package to consider their alternatives.
“Can you imagine how different this bill is from the bill that President Obama would have signed?” Mulvaney said.
“We got more money for defense,” he continued. “We got more money for border security. We got more money for school choice.”
“Everything that we got in this deal last night lines up with the president’s priorities. I think it’s great that the Democrats like this bill.”
