As Donald Trump continues his unpopular run as a president, Democrats are getting ready for the 2018 midterm elections.
According to a new survey by CNN/ORC that was released Friday, Democrats are on top of Republicans by 9 points.
The poll revealed that 50% of the voters would vote Democrat in their district while only 41% said they would vote Republican.
According to the poll, people are weaving away from any candidate that supports Trump. 55% of survey takers said they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who opposes Trump, compared to the 41% that would prefer a Trump supporter.
Come November of 2018, Democrats need to flip 25 seats to take control of the House.
CNN/ORC conducted the survey of 1,009 U.S. adults via telephone interviews from April 22 to 25. It has a 3 percentage point margin of error.
