Devin Nunes Loses It On Live TV After Fox News Host Corners Him Over Flynn’s Confession
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) went haywire on Friday during a segment on Fox News when he was confronted by host Neil Cavuto over Michael Flynn’s confession that he lied to the FBI.
Nunes called Flynn’s case “ridiculous” and “embarrassing” while claiming that he was set up.
“A sitting National Security Advisor, former head of an intelligence agency, retired Lieutenant General, and 33-year veteran of the armed forces knows he should not lie to federal agents,” the filing stated.
Nunes argued that Flynn was “entrapped” and that the case “infuriates” him.
“Do you think in the case of Michael Flynn that he was being set up?” Cavuto asked.
“This is nothing short of entrapment. This of all things infuriates me,” Nunes answered.
“He still pleaded guilty to lying to federal agents. He admitted he lied,” Cavuto said.
Nunes then argued that Flynn did not actually lie, despite offering no evidence to back his claims.
“I think the whole thing is ridiculous. This is an embarrassment for our country. It’s called entrapment. I think General Flynn had no place to go and no money left. It was the only thing he could do,” Nunes said.
“Nobody had a gun to his head,” Cavuto answered.
