After humiliating the U.S. during his first international trip as president, Donald Trump is finally on his way home where the FBI investigation into the Russian scandal is threatening to derail his chaotic presidency.
On Thursday, Trump insulted NATO allies for not paying what he calls “their fair share” for defense during a ceremony at the alliance’s new headquarters in Brussels.
“NATO members must finally contribute their fair share and meet their financial obligations,” Trump said, as other leaders looked on from the sidelines.
“This is not fair to the people and taxpayers of the United States and many of these nations owe massive amounts of money from past years — and not paying in those past years.”
Trump’s speech provoked exasperation from NATO leaders already uneasy with their relationship with the president, who condemned the alliance as “obsolete” during the 2016 campaign.
But Donald Trump, Jr. thought his Dad did a great job, tweeting, “They laughed more when they didn’t have to pay. Be as snide as you want but you’re going to finally pay your share. The free ride is over!”

As you may expect, Twitter had to respond, and it was brutal.
