Trump Celebrates Memorial Day By Paying Tribute To Himself, Gets Brutal Response
President Trump on Monday celebrated Memorial Day by sending out a message on Twitter. But rather than simply focusing on men and women who sacrificed their lives for their country, Trump used the occasion to pay tribute to himself, sparking a fierce backlash from Twitter users.
In his tweet, Trump bragged that dead American soldiers would have loved his presidency.
“Happy Memorial Day!” the president wrote on Twitter. “Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today. Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice!”
The president’s tweet triggered an avalanche of negative responses\ and the backlash is still growing.
