Well, it seems Donald Trump’s decision to bomb an empty Syrian airbase had nothing to do with his bogus outrage over the country’s alleged chemical weapons attack.
It turns out, president Trump ordered the strike on impulse. His decision to bomb Syria was influenced by his daughter, Ivanka, being “heartbroken and outraged” at the pictures of children being “sprayed down by hoses to keep their skin from burning,” Trump’s 33-year-old son, Eric told The Daily Telegraph.
“Ivanka is a mother of three kids and she has influence,” Eric Trump said, speaking with the British newspaper at Trump Turnberry golf resort in Ayrshire, Scotland.
“I’m sure she said, ‘Listen, this is horrible stuff.’ My father will act when she gets like that.”
He described the president as “a great thinker” and added: “I’m proud he took that action, and believe me, he thinks things through.”
Then he said this:
“If there was anything that the strike on Syria did, it was to validate the fact that there is no Russia tie.”
This explains why Trump has been silent on his Syria strategy. He has no strategy. The attack was either a reckless reaction to Ivanka’s “outrage” or very cynically orchestrated to change the narrative on Trump’s Russia scandal.
Either way, I hope Ivanka doesn’t get mad at North Korea and asks her dad to start a nuclear war.
