Ex-FBI Official Exposes AG Barr For Attempting To ‘Whitewash’ The Mueller Report, Puts Trump In Deep Hole

During an appearance on MSNBC, former FBI assistant director Frank Figliuzzi discussed Attorney General William Barr’s decision to keep the Mueller report a secret with host Nicolle Wallace.

During the discussion, Figliuzzi insisted that the ongoing holdup of the report reflects poorly on Barr’s impartiality.

“What else could they be doing?” said Wallace. “They have to be aware of how bad this looks. We don’t know what they’d had and what decisions they made … but they have to know how it looks. It looks, at this point, like a whitewash.”

“Every day that goes by, Nicolle, that we don’t see the release of a report from the attorney general makes Barr look more and more like a political animal and less and less like America’s attorney,” Figliuzzi said. “From the way that I know Mueller works, he would not have simply handed this report raw to Barr and walk away. He would have said, ‘I’ve done the homework here, I’ve declassified in a way that you can take or leave, but we’ve gone through the declass process, I have recommendations for how to get around the grand jury issues, here’s my advice.’”

“I do not believe that Barr needs all this time to do what he says he’s doing,” Figliuzzi added. “And he runs the risk of turning the public tide against him, and further demand coming out for all of this report.”
