According to Defense One, two aging refrigerators on the aircraft will be replaced at a cost of almost $24 million. The refrigerators need to have enough space to store up to 3,000 meals and according to the article, two out of the five are in need of replacement.
Richard Aboulafia, vice president of analysis at the Teal Group consulting firm, spoke with Defense One and said, “It’s not a contractor issue, it is a requirements issue. It’s not getting people rich.”
Boeing was awarded a $23.7 million contract to replace the refrigerators, according to Defense One.
