Ford Slaps Trump In The Face As They Support Players Who Kneel In Peaceful Protest: Report
Ford Motor Company decided to give a giant slap in the face to Donald Trump and his supporters this week when the company announced that they stand behind players who choose to kneel during the anthem to protest racial inequality.
The company slammed Trump by using his own slogan against him.
“We respect individuals’ rights to express their views, even if they are not ones we share,” the company said on Monday. “That’s part of what makes America great.”
Ford is heavily involved with the NFL. The company owns the Detroit Lions and has recently signed a contract with the NFL to make the Ford F-Series the league’s official truck.
Martha Firestone Ford, owner and chairwoman of the Detroit Lions and a member of the Ford family, took a shot at Trump for trying to divide the country by attacking players who protest.
“Our game has long provided a powerful platform for dialogue and positive change in many communities throughout our nation,” she said. “Negative and disrespectful comments suggesting otherwise are contrary to the founding principles of our country, and we do not support those comments or opinions.”
